Dünyada ve Türkiye'de Eğitim Hedefli Posterlerin Göstergebilimsel Açıdan Çözümlenmesi

Abstract

Posterler tarihleri boyunca çizim, renk, fotoğraf ve tipografi öğelerinin bir araya getirilmesiyle oluşturulmuş ve günümüzde çağdaş bir iletişim aracı haline gelerek hem estetik hem de işlevsel nitelikler kazanmıştır. Görsel iletişimin en etkili araçlarından biri olan poster tasarımlarında alıcıya iletilen mesajlar ağırlıklı olarak görseller aracılığıyla ifade edilmektedir. Anlamsal olarak ele alındığında poster tasarımlarının temel amacı, toplumun belirli konularına dikkat çekerek farkındalık yaratan bir iletişim bağlantısı oluşturmaya çalışmaktır. Bu görsel iletişim aracı aynı zamanda belirli prensipler doğrultusunda alıcıya verdiği mesajlarla hedeflediği kitleye yönelik özellikleri yansıtırken, bir yandan da konusuna göre işlevsel bir biçim yaratmaktadır. Poster tasarımlarının anlam bütününün çözümlenmesine ilişkin farklı anlamlandırma yöntemleri vardır ve göstergebilim bu yöntemlerden biridir. Göstergebilim sistematik bir anlamlandırma yöntemine dayanmaktadır ve bir görüntüde görünen, görünenin altında yatan göstergeleri inceleyerek yorumlar yaparak alt metinleri açığa çıkarmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında; göstergebilim ve poster (afiş) tasarımlarının tarihçesi belirli başlıklarla ele alınarak, uluslararası ve ulusal sanatçılara ait eğitim hedefli poster tasarımı örnekleri üzerinde çözümleme analizleri yapılmış ve Ferdinand de Saussure'un çözümleme metodu kullanılmıştır. Çözümleme için seçilen örneklerin çoğunluğu 2011 yılında eğitim hakkı başlığı altında farklı açılardan eğitim konusuna değinmiş olan posterlerden oluşmaktadır. Bu posterlerde eğitim öğretimin önemine ve eğitim kavramının insan davranışlarını geliştiren bir niteliğe sahip olduğuna dair göndermeler yer almaktadır. Yapılan çözümlemelerde posterlerin içinde yer alan mesajlardaki anlamların algılanmasında kullanılan göstergebilimsel çözümleme yönteminin, alıcıya anlam kargaşası yaratmadan daha açık ve anlaşılır veriler sağlayabildiği tanılanmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan metot ile poster çözümlemelerinde göstergebilim yönteminin kullanılmasının önemi ortaya konulmuştur.

Posters, which are one of the most effective tools of visual communication, mainly provide the messages conveyed in the bond established with the recipient through visuals. Posters, which were created by bringing together the elements of drawing, color, photography and typography throughout their history, have become a contemporary communication tool and have gained both aesthetic and functional qualities. When poster designs are considered semantically, their main purpose is to create a communication link that creates awareness by drawing attention to certain problems of the society. At the same time, it reflects the features of the target audience with the messages it gives to the recipient in line with certain principles, while creating a functional form according to its subject. This visual communication tool has different interpretation methods for the analysis of the whole meaning, and semiotics is one of them. Semiotics is based on a systematic method of making sense and examines the visible or underlying signs in an image, makes interpretations and reveals subtexts. In the scope of the research; Analytical analyzes were made on the educational poster design examples of international and national artists by discussing the history of semiotics and poster designs under certain headings, and the analysis method of Ferdinand de Saussure was used. The majority of the samples selected for analysis consist of posters that touch on the subject of education from different perspectives under the title of the right to education in 2011. These posters contain references to the importance of education and the concept of education that improves human behavior. In the analyzes made, it has been determined that the semiotic analysis method used to perceive the meanings of the messages in the posters can provide more clear and understandable data to the recipient without creating ambiguity. With the method used in the research, the importance of using the semiotics method in poster analysis has been revealed.
