Escherichia coli is the most frequent Gram-negative organism causing bacteraemia. In this retrospective study, risk factors and outcomes were evaluated in total of 32 patients with nosocomial and community-acquired E. coli bacteraemia. Of the patients with E. coli bacteraemia, seven (22%) were hospital- acquired. Of the 32 E. coli bacteraemia patients, 25 (78.1%) patients had cardiovascular diseases and 10 (31.2%) patients had diabetes mellitus. The most common focus of infection leading to nosocomial and community-acquired bacteraemia due to E. coli was the urinary tract. Three of patients died.en_US
