The title compounds, propynylferrocene, [Fe(C<inf>5</inf>H <inf>5</inf>)(C<inf>8</inf>H<inf>7</inf>)], (I), and (phenylethynyl)ferrocene, [Fe(C<inf>5</inf>H<inf>5</inf>)(C<inf>13</inf>H<inf>9</inf>)], (II), are stabilized by weak C-H⋯π interactions. The C≡C bond distances in these molecules are in the range 1.182 (3)1.192 (3) Å. In (II), the ferrocenyl and phenyl groups are perpendicular, making an angle of 89.06 (13)°, which is a rare occurrence. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography.en_US
