dc.description.abstractIn this research, it was aimed to determine the attitudes of prospective teachers of science, primary school and social sciences regarding solid waste and recycling as an environmental issue. A total of 140 prospective teachers composed of 48 studying in science teaching, 43 in primary school teaching and 49 in social sciences teaching in the senior class in the Department of Faculty of Education in a University located in Black Sea region of Turkey participated in the research. In the research, comparative survey has been used under relational survey model which is one of the general survey models. A 33-item attitude scale developed by another researcher was used in the research. It was determined that there is no significant difference in attitudes on solid waste and recycling by gender of prospective teachers. According to attitude points of prospective teachers on solid waste and recycling, it was concluded that there is a significant difference on behalf of science prospective teachers between science and primary school prospective teachers. Similarly, it was concluded that there is a significant difference on behalf of science prospective teachers between science and social sciences prospective teachers. But there is no significant difference between primary school and social sciences prospective teachers.en_US
