İlköğretim Öğretmen Adaylarının Sürdürülebilir Çevre Eğitimine Yönelik Tutumları

Abstract

Bu araştırma ile İlköğretim Fen Bilgisi, Sosyal Bilgiler ve Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümlerinde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının sürdürülebilir çevre eğitimine yönelik tutumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma; Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü, Fen Bilgisi, Sosyal Bilgiler ve Sınıf Öğretmenliği son sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 154 öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veriler, Afacan ve Demirci Güler (2011) tarafından geliştirilen 44 maddeden oluşan ölçek ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan nicel veriler SPSS istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının Sürdürülebilir Çevre Eğitimine yönelik tutumlarında ölçeğin 2. (Tüketime Yönelik Tutumlu Davranış ve Düşünceler), 3. (Çevresel Problemlere Karşı Duyarlılık ve Müdahalede Bulunma) ve 5. (Hayvanlara ve Çevreye Yönelik Olumsuz Davranışlara Karşı Duyarlılık) faktörlerinde Sosyal Bilgiler ve Sınıf öğretmen adaylarına göre anlamlı farklılık olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmaya katılan kız öğretmen adaylarının Sürdürülebilir Çevre Eğitimine yönelik tutumlarında ise 2. faktör (Tüketime Yönelik Tutumlu Davranış ve Düşünceler) dışındaki tüm faktörlerde erkek öğretmen adaylarına göre anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının bölüm, cinsiyet, yaşadıkları yer ve çevre konulu ders alma durumları ile sürdürülebilir çevre eğitimine yönelik tutumları arasında, ölçeğin toplam puanı dikkate alındığında anlamlı bir fark bulunmazken çevre korunması ile ilgili bir derneğe üye olma durumları arasında, derneğe üye olan öğretmen adaylarının lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının Sürdürülebilir Çevre Eğitimine yönelik olumlu tutuma sahip olmaları için, lisans programlarında bu konulara yeterince yer verilmesi, etkili bir şekilde öğretilmesi ayrıca çevreyi korumaya yönelik derneklere üye olunması ve üyeliklerinin devamlılığı için teşvik edilmeleri gerekmektedir.

This diploma thesis aims to determine, the primary school teacher candidates' attitude on sustainable environmental education. It is important to keep environmental education continuously and also important from the adoption point of view of students, also there is a huge role of teachers in this education model. Therefore, first of all it is desired observe and analyse the teacher candidates behaviors who are already getting training to educate students. The attitude of teacher canditates' on environmental subject will demonstrate the route map of the education which they will give to the students, since it is almost impossible to relay the information that is not believed. So that the belief on sustainable environmental education will show the route map of transferring the information. With this study, it is aimed to demonstrate the sustainable environmental education adoption for the candidates of teachers. According to this study, the participants are represented from the departments of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Science Teaching and Social Sciences Teaching and also studied by the method of, Afacan and Demirci Güler (2011) who invented the 'sutainable environmental education attitude scale'. Totally this scale study applied on 154 candidate teacher. According to the questionnaire which is applied on these people, the results taken from them is analysed and the method of survey model of quantitative researching is used on primary school teacher candidates. At the end of the study, results are analysed by SPSS statistics software. Altough there is no meaningful difference for the teacher candidates' department, location of living, gender and schooling about sustainable environmental attitudes; there is a positive relation between being a membership of a association about environent. For having a positive attitude of sustainable environment education of teacher candidates' it is desired to have enough education at bachelors degree level education, to be a membership of a association about environment and to promote being a membership of an association.
