Gastrointestinal Endoskopi İşlemlerinde Hasta Hasta Yakınlarını Bilgilendirme ve Bir Medikal İllüstrasyon Dizisi Geliştirme

Abstract

Gastrointestinal hastalıklarının tanı ve tedavisinin vazgeçilmez bir bütünü olan gastrointestinal sistem endoskopisi üst ve alt olmak üzere iki şekilde uygulanır. Sindirim kanalının üst kısımlarından olan yemek borusu, mide ve on iki parmak bağırsağı gastroskopi (endoskopi) ile, alt kısımları ise kolonoskopi ile incelenmektedir. Hasta rahatsızlığı üzerine bir hekime başvurduğunda kendisine uygulanacak işlemi, tedaviyi ve hastalığını tüm yönleriyle bilmek buna izin vermek veya vermemek hakkına sahiptir. Bu bağlamda hasta-hekim ilişkisinde hastanın bilgilendirmesi önem arz etmektedir. Dünyada birçok yerde hasta bilgilendirme, etik bir uygulama olmaktan çıkmış, yasal bir zorunluluk haline gelmiş ve bu kapsamda onam formları kullanılır olmuştur. Hekimin hastasına uygulayacağı tüm işlemlerde olduğu gibi gastrointestinal endoskopide de bilgilendirme işlemi iyi yapılarak hastadan onam alınmalıdır. Bu araştırmada gastrointestinal endoskopi işlemlerinde hasta ve hasta yakınlarını bilgilendirme süreci irdelenecek ve hastayı bilgilendirmede yaşanan anlatım zorluğunu kolaylaştırmak, hastayı daha iyi bilgilendirmek amacıyla görsellerden yararlanmak için bir illüstrasyon dizisi yapılarak bilgilendirme işlemini daha anlaşılır kılmak amaçlanmaktadır. Görsel algı, okuma hızı ile kıyaslanamayacak kadar hızlı gerçekleşen bir karaktere sahiptir. Çok karmaşık işlemler bile etkili görselleştirildiğinde daha anlaşılır hale getirilebilir. Gastrointestinal endoskopi işlemlerinde, hastayı bilgilendirme aşamasında hastandan alınacak onam formlarında herhangi bir görsel ifadeye yer verilmediği görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda hastalara daha iyi bilgilendirme sağlanması için illüstrasyonlar yapılarak, üst/alt gastrointestinal sistem endoskopi onam formları bu illüstrasyonlarla desteklenmiştir.

Gastrointestinal system endoscopy, which is an indispensable part of the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, takes place in two forms as upper and lower. The esophagus, stomach and two finger intestines, which are the upper parts of the digestive canal, are examined by gastroscopy (endoscopy), and the lower parts (large intestines) are examined by colonoscopy. When the patient applies to a physician for his illness, he has the right to know all aspects of the procedure, treatment and disease to be applied to him or not. In this context, informing patient is important in the patient-physician relationship. Consent forms, which have ceased to be an ethical practice and become a legal obligation, are used in informing patient in many places around the world. As with all procedures that the physician will apply to the patient, the patient's consent should be obtained by making good information in gastrointestinal endoscopy. In this study, the process of informing patients and their relatives in gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures will be examined and it is aimed to make the information process more understandable by making an illustration series in order to make use of visuals in order to facilitate the difficulty of informing the patient and to inform the patient better. Visual perception has a character that happens so fast that it cannot be compared with reading speed. Even very complex operations can be made more understandable when effectively visualized. In gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures, it is seen that no visual expression is included in the consent forms to be obtained from the patient at the stage of informing the patient. In this context, illustrations were made to provide better information to patients and upper / lower gastrointestinal system endoscopy consent forms were supported with these illustrations.
