Abstract
This study was conducted in Samsun province, Turkey. The aim of the study was to determine the species of Aphididae family, their host plant(s) and taxonomical features of determined aphid species. The specimens of Aphididae on herbaceous, woody plants and agricultural crops in different localities of study area were collected between 2009-2011. These specimens were processed according to Martin (1983) in laboratory to make permanent slides and identified by comparing with literature and previously determined deposited specimens. As a result, 141 species belonging to 47 genus, two subtribe, nine tribe and ten subfamily of the family Aphididae were determined. Subfamily, tribe, subtribe, genus and synonyms of each determined species were emphasized in accordance with the systematic location and arrangement of the species according to Remaudière ve Remaudière (1997). Taxonomical characters, appearances of species on host plant and general view on slide, distinguishing features, body lenght, host plant list and distributions of species in both Turkey and worlwide were given. It was shown 28 species are new records for Turkey Aphididae fauna which are Aphis esulae, Aphis gerardianae, Aphis loti, Aphis middletonii, Aphis odinae, Aphis pashtshenkoae, Aphis proffti, Aphis pseudocardui, Aphis rubicola, Aphis stachydis, Cavariella salicis, Chaitophorus lapponum, Cinara curvipes, Cinara indica, Cinara neubergi, Cinara occidentalis, Cinara watanabei, Lachnus longirostrum, Lipaphis pseudobrassicae, Macrosiphoniella millefolii, Macrosiphum centranthi, Megoura nigra, Myzus cornutus, Myzus padellus, Pterocomma rufipes, Sipha arenarii, Sitobion africanum and Uroleucon kashmiricum and 78 species are new records for Samsun province. It was determined that Aphis spiraecola and Aphis fabae had the highest population density, Salix spp. and Prunus spp. hosted most aphid species. Key Words: Taxonomy, Aphididae, Hemiptera, Samsun, Turkey.
