Teşekkül Döneminde Tasavvuf Psikolojisinin Temelleri: Hakîm Tirmizî Örneği

Abstract

Son yıllarda psikoloji ve tasavvuf disiplinleri birbirine yaklaşmış; bu sayede tasavvuf psikolojisi çalışmaları da hız kazanmıştır. Biz de tezimizde bu alana katkı sağlamak amacıyla tasavvuf psikolojisini Tirmizî'nin eserlerinden hareketle incelemeye çalıştık. Bu bağlamda, Hâkim Tirmizî'nin eserleri, tasavvuf ve psikoloji ilişkisinin birlikte anlaşılması noktasında zengin bir içeriğe sahiptir. Tezimiz giriş ve iki ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında, tezin amacı, sınırları ve yöntemi açıklanmıştır. Birinci bölümde teşekkül dönemine kadar olan sürecin genel özellikleri tasavvufî açıdan ele alınmaktadır. Bu bölümde Hakîm Tirmizî'nin hayatına da ayrıntılı olarak yer verilmiştir. Hakîm Tirmizî'yi daha iyi tanımak düşüncelerini besleyen unsurların daha iyi anlaşılmasına da yardımcı olacaktır. Tezimizin ikinci bölümünde, tasavvuf ve psikoloji arasındaki ilişki analiz edilmiş ve ilk dönem tasavvuf psikolojisinin unsurları incelenmiştir. Daha sonra Hakîm Tirmizî'nin eserlerinden yola çıkarak tasavvuf psikolojisinde öne çıkan kavramları inceledik. Tirmizî insanın oluşum ve dönüşüm sürecini; kalp, nefs, ruh, akıl, ilim ve hevâ gibi kavramlarla ele alır. Bireyin manevî benlik oluşumunun sıhhatli bir şekilde tamamlanması için ise, halvet ve uzlet gibi riyâzat ve mücâhede uygulamalarına önem verdiği Tirmizî'nin eserlerinde karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Psikolojik hayatın merkezi olarak düşünülen kalp; duygu, düşünce ve irade gibi bütün rûhî fonksiyonların kaynaklandığı yerdir. Tirmizî de fonksiyonel ve derûni boyutlarıyla ele alarak kalbi; sadr, kalp, fuad ve lübb olmak üzere dört katmanda açıklamıştır. Nefs ve ruhu ele alırken, bu iki kavramı kalbin katmanlarıyla sistematik bir şekilde ilişkilendirmiştir. Seyr ü sülûk esnasında kalpte oluşan gelişme ve nefste görülen ilerlemenin psiko-sosyal açıdan irdelenmesi sûfî benlik yapısının anlaşılması için oldukça önemlidir.

In recent years, sufism and psychology have approached each other and in this way, the studies of sufism psychology have gained momentum. In order contribute to this area, in our thesis, we tried to study sufism psychology through the works of Tirmidhi. In this context, the works of Hakim Tirmidhi have a wide content on the understanding of the relationship between sufism and psychology. Our thesis consists of an introduction and two main chapters. In the introduction, the aim, limits and method of the thesis are explained. In the first chapter, the general features of the process until the formation period of sufism are examined in the context of sufism history. In this chapter, the life of Hakim Tirmidhi is also discussed in detail. To know Hakim Tirmidhi better, will also contributing to well understanding of the factors that feed his thoughts. In the second chapter of our thesis, the relationship between sufism and psychology is analyzed and the elements of the psychology of sufism in the first period are examined. Then, according to works of Hakim Tirmidhi, we have studied the prominent concepts in the sufism psychology. Tirmidhi has evaluated the formation and transformation process of human beings together with concepts such as heart, al-nafs, soul, reason, knowledge and desire (al-hawa). For the positive completion of the individual's formation of spiritual self, it is seen in Tirmidhi's works that he attached importance to the practices of ascetism (al-riyazah) self jihad (al-mujahada) such as khalwa and uzlah. The heart, which is the center of psychological life, includes all the functions of the soul, such as emotion, thought and self-control. And Tirmidhi has evaluated the heart with its functional and internal dimensions by describing it in four layers: Sadr, heart, fuad and lübb. While in analyzing the concepts of al-nafs and soul, he has systematically correlated these two concepts with the layers of the heart. To examine the development of the heart and soul progress in the psycho-social aspect in spiritual journey (seyr u suluk) is important for understanding the structure of sufi self.
