Abstract
In this research, it was purposed to assess the variation of soil microbiological properties and the relations between microbiological properties of soil and other physical, chemical properties of soils along soil profiles formed on Bafra Delta Plain caused by both Kızılırmak River and the Black Sea effects. For this purpose, soil classification was performed by making soil sampling based on the main issue of horizon along six profiles and the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics (microbial biomass, microbial respiration, metabolic quotient, catalase and dehydrogenase activity) of soils were investigated.According to the soil classification system, soils on investigation area were classified as Sodic Haplustert, Typic Calciaquert, Sodic Calciustert, Vertic Haplustept, Typic Ustipsamment and Na and ESP (changeable sodium percentage) increasing as going the lower soil layers were determined in all soil profiles. Furthermore, it was determined that the microbiological properties of soil decreased with increasing soil depth and this reduction was essential statistically. As a result of conducting statistical evaluation, there was a sufficient correlation between the microbiological properties of soil and soil organic matter, total N, available P and K content, however, it was found significantly negative correlations between changeable Na and ESP.
