Discusses the Cultural Changes in Transition Period Customs in Canik District of Samsun Province

Abstract

Bu çalışma Samsun ili Canik ilçesi geçiş dönemi âdetlerinde görülen kültürel değişimleri ele almaktadır. İnsan hayatının en önemli geçiş dönemleri; doğum, evlenme ve ölümdür. Geçiş dönemlerinde çeşitli âdet, inanma, tören, dinsel ve büyüsel işlemler mevcuttur. Bu işlemlerin birçoğunda birey, kendini yeni dönemine hazırlar. Araştırmanın giriş bölümünde araştırmanın konusu, problemi, amacı, gerekçesi, yöntemi hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Birinci bölümde, araştırma alanının tarihi, fizikî ve nüfus özellikleri anlatılmıştır. Canik ilçesinin sağlık, eğitim ve ekonomik durumu ile kültür ve turizmi hakkındaki bilgilere kısaca yer verilmiştir. Araştırma yapılacak köylerin nasıl tespit edildiği anlatılmış ve tespit edilen köyler hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde; geçiş dönemi âdetleri hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra doğum, evlenme ve ölümle ilgili yapılan çalışma sonucu elde edilen bilgiler aktarılmıştır. Geçiş dönemleri öncesi, sırası ve sonrası olmak üzere üç ana başlık altında ele alınarak, ilgili konu başlığına ait âdet, inanma ve uygulamalar anlatılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde; kültürel değişimin izleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve ikinci bölümde verilen bilgilerin kültürel değişime bağlı izlerinin değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde, yapılan çalışma genel anlamda değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmalar sırasında kullanılan kaynaklar yazılı, sözlü ve elektronik olmak üzere üç ayrı başlık altında toplanmıştır. This study discusses the cultural changes in transition period customs in Canik district of Samsun province. The most important transition periods of a person's life are birth, marriage and death. There are various customs, beliefs, ceremonies and religious and magic activities. In many of these processes, the individual prepares himself/herself to the new period. In the introduction of the study, information is given about the subject, problem, purpose, justification and method of the study. In the first part, historical, physical and population characteristics of the research area were reported. Information about health, education and economic state and culture and tourism in Canik district were given in short. The method for finding out the villages included in the study was reported and information was given about these villages. In the second part, after information was given about transition period customs, the information gathered as a result of the study conducted about birth, marriage and death was conveyed. Transition periods were discussed under three main headings as pre-transition, during transition and post-transition and customs, beliefs and practices of the related heading were reported. In the third part, information was given about the traces of cultural change and cultural change dependent traces of the information given in the second part were assessed. In the conclusion, the study was assessed in general. The sources used in the study were collected under three different headings as written, oral and electronic.
