Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is an infectious and lethal disease caused by a nairovirus which is widely distributed throughout Europe, Asia and many countries of Africa. The disease is a zoonotic infection since the agent also infects wild and domestic animals including sheep, goat and cattle. The causative virus is transmitted to humans by tick bites. In this article; the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and diagnostic methods of CCHF are reviewed.
