Abstract
Bu çalışmada; Lamiaceae familyasından Satureja hortensis cinsi kekikten, Soxhlet aparatı kullanılarak yapılan ekstraksiyonla elde edilen yağın termik davranışının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Kekik yağı, Satureja hortensis L. cinsi kekiğin öğütülüp, pentan ve diklorometan (2:1) çözücü karışımı kullanılarak damıtılması ile %2,9 verimle elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen yağın, hava ve azot atmosferinde termik davranışlarını belirlemek için eş zamanlı Termogravimetrik Analiz/Diferansiyel Termogravimetri/Diferansiyel Termal Analiz teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Termik analiz verilerinden Flynn-Wall-Ozawa yöntemi kullanılarak piroliz ve yanma davranışlarına ilişkin kinetik çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yağın Fourier dönüşümlü kızılötesi spektrum analizi ile yapısında bulunan bileşenlere ait karakteristik titreşim frekansları belirlenmiştir. Termik analiz çalışmalarıyla, kekik yağının termik bozunma profilinin uçucu yağlara uygun şekilde oda sıcaklığında başlayarak 600 ℃ civarında son bulduğu ve genel olarak iki basamaklı bozunmanın sergilendiği tespit edilmiştir. Termogravimetrik analiz sonucunda, azot atmosferinde ortalama aktivasyon enerjisi 100,74 kJ/mol olarak bulunurken; hava atmosferindeki ortalama aktivasyon enerjisi 79,87 kJ/mol olarak tespit edilmiştir
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the thermal behavior of the oil obtained from the extracts of Satureja hortensis from Lamiaceae family by using Soxhlet apparatus. Thyme oil was obtained by grinding the Satureja hortensis L. genus in 2,9% yield by distillation using pentane and dichloromethane (2:1) solvent mixture. Thermogravimetric Analysis/Differential Thermogravimetry/Differential Thermal Analysis techniques were used to determine the thermal behavior of the obtained oil in air and nitrogen atmosphere. Kinetic studies of pyrolysis and combustion behaviors were performed by using Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method from the thermal analysis data Fourier transformed infrared spectral analysis of the oil and the characteristic vibration frequencies of the components were determined. With thermal analysis studies, it was determined that the thermal degradation profile of thyme oil ended at around 600 ℃ starting at room temperature in accordance with essential oils and generally two-steps degradation was exhibited. As a result of thermogravimetric analysis, the mean activation energy in nitrogen atmosphere was found to be 100,74 kJ/mol; the average activation energy in the air atmosphere was determined as 79,87 kJ/mol.
