dc.description.abstractIn this study, the effects of waste marble powder (MP) and pumice powder (PP) on the soil properties of soft clays were investigated. As a result of the demonstration that MP and PP, which are discharged into nature as waste, improve the engineering properties of soft soils, this will provide significant benefits in terms of both economic and environmental pollution. To investigate the improvement effect of MP and PP on soft soil, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% by weight of MP and PP were added to the soft soil. To determine the physical and strength properties of PP and MP added soils, related tests were carried out according to ASTM standards. The test results obtained were compared with the soft soil results without PP and MP additives. The results show that the addition of MP and PP significantly improves the properties of soft soil, such as compressibility and permeability. With the increase of the additive ratio, the effect of the improvement increases in both materials. When the strength properties were examined, it was seen that the 15% PP addition was the most appropriate rate. With the increase in the MP % ratio, the strength also increased.en_US
