KPSS'nin Öğretmen Adaylarının Akademik ve Sosyal Yaşamlarına Etkileri

Abstract

Toplumların kalkınmasında, gelişmesinde ve ilerlemesinde eğitimin rolü büyüktür. Bu sebeple eğitim sisteminin, toplumun değişen koşulları çerçevesinde kendini yenilemesi gerekmektedir. Eğitim sistemi, öğretmen, öğrenci, eğitim ortamı, çevre vb. unsurlardan oluşan bir sistemdir. Bu sistemde, diğer unsurlardan etkilenen ve tüm bu unsurları etkileyen öğretmendir. Dolayısıyla öğretmenlerin çok yönlü olarak gelişmeleri gerekmektedir. Eğitim fakülteleri öğretmen adaylarının pedagojik, psikolojik, sosyal vb. açılardan yetişmelerini sağlayan kurumlardır. Bu fakültelerde öğretmen adayları, dört yıl boyunca genel yetenek, genel kültür, eğitim bilimleri ve pedagojik eğitime yönelik eğitim almaktadırlar. Dört yılsonunda eğitimlerini başarılı şekilde tamamlayan öğretmen adayları, KPSS adı verilen yazılı bir sınava girmektedirler. Bu sınav sonucunda başarılı olan adaylar, öğretmenlik mesleğine başlayabilmektedirler. Öğretmen adayları, KPSS sürecinde akademik ve sosyal anlamda birtakım olumsuzluklarla karşı karşıya kalmaktadırlar. Adayların karşı karşıya kaldıkları bu olumsuzlukların saptanmasına, KPSS'nin adayların akademik ve sosyal yaşamlarına etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla bu araştırmanın yapılması uygun bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma, Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü son sınıfında okuyan öğrenciler ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma, İlköğretim Bölümü son sınıfında okuyan 10 öğrenci ile yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler, betimsel analiz yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda, öğretmen adaylarının KPSS'yi öğretmen seçiminde yetersiz ancak gerekli gördükleri, sınavın içeriğinde ya da uygulanışında birtakım değişiklikler yapılmasını istedikleri, KPSS'nin öğretmen adaylarının aileleri ve arkadaş çevreleri ile ilişkilerini ve sosyal faaliyetlerini olumsuz etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Education has a great role in the progress, development and advancement of societies. Thus, education system needs to renew itself within the scope of the changing conditions in society. Education system is a system that consists of factors such as teacher, student, educational environment, etc. In this system, the factor that is influenced by the other factors and that influences all these factors is the teacher. Thus, teachers need to develop many sides. Education faculties are institutions that enable prospective teachers to be educated in terms of pedagogical, psychological and social aspects. In these faculties, prospective teachers are educated in general ability, general knowledge, educational sciences and pedagogical education for four years. Prospective teachers who have successfully completed their education at the end of four years enter a written examination called KPSS. Prospective teachers who succeed in this exam can start teaching profession. Prospective teachers face some negations academically and socially during the process of KPSS. This study was conducted to find these negations that prospective teachers face and to determine the effects of KPSS in the academic and social lives of prospective teachers. The study was conducted with final year undergraduate students studying at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Education. One of the qualitative research methods, interview method, was used in the study. The study was conducted with 10 final year undergraduate students. The interviews were analyzed through descriptive analysis. At the end of the interviews, it was found that the prospective teachers thought KPSS was inadequate in choosing teachers; however, they thought it was necessary or they wanted some changes to be made in its application and KPSS affected the relationships of prospective teachers with their families and their friends and their social activities negatively.
