Abstract

Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between psychiatric nurses' existential concerns and their level of authenticity. Methods: This research is a descriptive study looking for a relationship and was conducted with 192 nurses working at the Turkey Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital between February 2018 and August 2018. Data were collected using the "Descriptive Information Form", "Existential concerns" and "Authenticity" scales. Results: The relationship between Existential Concerns scale scores and Authenticity Inventory Scale scores was negative and significant (p<0.01). Conclusion: It is recommended to investigate the reasons affecting the existential anxiety levels of psychiatric nurses and to provide psychoeducation to increase their authenticity.
