1950 Kuşağı Kadın Öykücülerinin Öykülerinde Melankoli (Greimas'ın Eyleyenler Modeli Çerçevesinde Bir İnceleme)

Abstract

1950'li yıllarda özellikle siyaset ve ekonomi alanındaki ani, hızlı ve köklü değişimlerin sosyal hayat ve kültürel ortam üzerindeki etkisi 50 kuşağı olarak anılan dönemin sanatçılarında anlamsızlık, hiçlik, sıkıntı, kentte bunalan kişiler, yabancılaşan birey vb. konu ve temaların öne çıkmasına neden olmuş görünmektedir. Bu konu ve temaların arka planında ana hatlarıyla dönemin sosyopolitik ve kültürel ortamını da şekillendiren çalkantılı yaşamının etkisi göz ardı edilemez bir önemdedir. Çalışmamıza belli bir sınırlandırma getirerek, 1950 Kuşağı sanatçılarından Nezihe Meriç, Tezer Özlü ve Tomris Uyar'ın melankolik atmosferi içeren öykülerini ele aldık. Öykülerdeki melankolik dil ve tutum; bir yanıyla dönemin siyasi, ekonomik, sosyopolitik ve kültürel ortamından beslenen bir tarihsellikte kendine yer bulurken öte yandan öyküleme tekniğiyle anlatıların yapısını da şekillendirmiştir. Bu teknikle inşa edilen öykülerden tespit ettiklerimizi, Algirdas Julien Greimas'ın anlatıları çözümlemesi için geliştirdiği ve önerdiği 'Eyleyenler Modeli' ile yapısal bir yaklaşımla incelemeye çalıştık. Anlatıda bazı rollerin (eyleyenlerin) işlevlerini (eylemlerini) belirleyerek ve anlatıyı süreç olarak tasnifleyip evrelere ayırarak (anlatı izlencesi); anlamsal boyutta bazı çıkarımlara ve öykülerdeki melankolik atmosferin oluşumuna-kaynağına ulaştık. Tezimizde, öykücülerin dünyasında 'melankoli' kavramıyla eşleşen hadiseler hakkında bilgiler edinmemizi sağlayan bu metotla, bazı sonuçlara da varmış olduk. Ana sonuç olarak değinebileceğimiz tespitlerden ilki; Nezihe Meriç ve Tomris Uyar'da; toplumda ezilen, kocası tarafından şiddete uğrayan veya sevilmeyen, tek başına var oluşunu gerçekleştirmeye çalışan 'kadın' özne eyleyenlerinin öyküde oluşturdukları melankolik hava, ortak bir özellik olarak karşımıza çıkar. Diğer bir ana sonuç ise Tezer Özlü ve Nezihe Meriç öykülerindeki melankolik havanın ortak yönlerinin; dönemin siyasi huzursuzları, darbe, savaş gibi genel çaplı meseleler olmasıdır. Ayrıca Tezer Özlü ve Tomris Uyar öykülerinde melankoli söyleminin kesiştiği bir noktanın olmadığını fark ettik. Her öykücünün, öyküsünde ulaştığımız ayrıntılı tespitlere ise tezimizin ilgili bölümünde değindik.

The impact of sudden, rapid and radical changes in the field of politics and economics on social life and cultural environment in the 1950s seems to have caused the emergence of subjects and themes such as meaninglessness, nothingness, depression, distress in the city, alienated individual in the works of artists known as the 50's generation. In the background of these subjects and themes, with its outlines, the impact of the stormy life that shaped the socio-political and cultural environment of the period has an undeniable importance. By bringing a certain limitation to our study, we discussed the stories of the 1950 generation writers Nezihe Meriç, Tezer Özlü and Tomris Uyar, including the melancholic atmosphere. While finding a place in a historicity nourished by the political, economic, socio-political and cultural environment of the period, melancholic language and attitude in the stories has also shaped the structure of narratives with narration technique. The study tries to examine the identified stories which are built with this technique by using a structural approach developed by Algirdas Julien Greimas for analysing the narratives. By describing the functions (actions) of some roles (actants) and classifying narrative as a process (narrative program); some semantic conclusions and the formation or source of the melancholic atmosphere in the stories has been reached. In the study, with this method which provides information about the events matching with the concept of 'melancholy' in the world of the storytellers, some conclusions have also been reached. One of the main conclusion is that the melancholic atmosphere created by the 'female' subject actants who are oppressed in the society, who have been violated or disliked by their husbands, who are trying to fulfill their existence alone, is a common feature in Nezihe Meriç and Tomris Uyar. Another main conclusion is that the common aspects of melancholic atmosphere in the stories of Tezer Özlü and Nezihe Meriç are the general issues such as political unrest of the period, military coup, the war and etc. In addition, it is seen that there is not an intersection point of melancholy discourse in the stories of Tezer Özlü and Tomris Uyar. The detailed descriptions of each storyteller's stories have been mentioned in the relevant chapters of the thesis.
