Ortaokul Türkçe Ders Kitaplarındaki Etkinliklerin Öğretmen Görüşleri Doğrultusunda Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma ile ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki metinler ve etkinliklerle ilgili öğretmen görüşlerine başvurularak etkinlik temelli hazırlanan, ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Amasya ilinde Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı ortaokullarda görev yapan 40 Türkçe öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma grubundaki öğretmenler örneklem seçme yöntemlerinden amaçlı örneklem yoluyla seçilmiştir. Uzman görüşleri alınarak hazırlanan açık uçlu soruların bulunduğu 'Türkçe Ders Kitaplarındaki Metinler ve Etkinliklere İlişkin Öğretmen Görüşme Formu' hazırlanmıştır. Görüşme formunun birinci bölümünde öğretmenlere Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki metinler ve etkinliklerle ilgili görüşleri, ikinci bölümünde ise 5. sınıf Türkçe kitabındaki etkinlikler ve onların metinlerle olan bağlantısı hakkında görüşleri sorulmuştur. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin verdikleri cevaplar içerik analizi yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonunda öğretmenlerin ders kitaplarındaki metinlerin nicelik olarak yeterli olduğunu ancak tür dağılımı ve çeşitlilik açısından geliştirilmesi gerektiğini ifade ettikleri görülmüştür. Öğretmenler ders kitaplarındaki etkinliklerin ise sayıca yeterli hatta fazla olduğunu ancak etkinlikleri nitelik bakımından çok düşük ve öğrencilerde üst düzey zihinsel becerileri geliştirme noktasında yetersiz bulduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Etkinliklerin uygulanmasında karşılaşılan sorunlara değinen öğretmenler etkinliklerle ilgili önerilerde bulunmuştur. Metni anlama ve çözümleme amacına yönelik söz varlığı, konu ve ana fikir belirleme, etkinliklerinin çok faydalı olabileceğini ancak tek tip sorular sorulması sebebiyle işlevini yitirdiği öğretmenlerce belirtilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda okuduğunu anlamanın önemine dikkat çekilerek ders kitaplarındaki metinler ve etkinliklerin öğrencilerin zihinsel becerilerini ve okuryazarlık yeterliklerini geliştirmesi amacıyla Türkçe ders kitapları, ders işleniş süreci ve yapılabilecek bilimsel çalışmalarla ilgili önerilerde bulunulmuştur. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the activity-based secondary school Turkish textbooks by referring to the opinions of teachers about the texts and activities in the Turkish textbooks. The case study design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 40 Turkish teachers working in secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the province of Amasya. The teachers in the research group were selected through purposeful sampling, one of the sampling methods. 'Teacher Interview Form About Texts and Activities in Turkish Textbooks', which includes open-ended questions prepared by taking expert opinions, was prepared. In the first part of the interview form, the teachers were asked about their views on the texts and activities in the Turkish textbooks, and in the second part, their views on the activities in the 5th grade Turkish book and their relations with the texts. The answers given by the teachers participating in the research were evaluated with the content analysis method. At the end of the research, it has been found that the teachers stated that the texts in the textbooks were sufficient in quantity, but that they should be improved in terms of variety distribution and diversity. Teachers stated that the activities in the textbooks were sufficient or even more in number, but they found the activities very low in terms of quality and insufficient in terms of developing high-level mental skills in students. Referring to the problems encountered in the implementation of the activities, the teachers made suggestions about the activities. It has been stated by the teachers that vocabulary, subject and main idea determination activities for the purpose of understanding and analyzing the text can be very useful, but they lose their function due to asking uniform questions. In line with these results, by drawing attention to the importance of reading comprehension, suggestions have been made about Turkish textbooks, course teaching process and scientific studies that can be done in order for the texts and activities in the textbooks to improve students' mental skills and literacy competencies.
