Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, İngilizce okuma parçalarına dayalı, Sözel-Dilsel ve Görsel-Uzamsal Zekâya yönelik tasarlanmış öğretim etkinlikleri önermek ve bu etkinliklerin Samsun İbrahim Tanrıverdi Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi Hazırlık Sınıfı Öğrencilerinin İngilizce okuma becerileri üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma için rastlantısal olarak hazırlık sınıfında okuyan 17 öğrenci seçilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin ön-test ve son-test uygulamaları arasındaki okuma becerileri gelişimini test etmek amacıyla, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan ?Değerlendirme Anketi? kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kontrol grupsuz ön-test, son-test model yöntemiyle yürütülmüş; verilerin analizinde SPSS 11.5 paket programı kullanılmış ve bulguların analizinde Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıra Testi'nden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından belirlenen ve uygulanan İngilizce öğretim etkinlikleri öncesinde ve sonrasında yine araştırmacının kendisi tarafından geliştirilen ve uygulanan Değerlendirme Anketi sonuçları incelendiğinde, elde edilen bulgu şöyledir; Okuma parçalarına dayalı olarak geliştirilmiş Sözel-Dilsel ve Görsel-Uzamsal Zekâya yönelik öğretim etkinliklerinin hazırlık sınıfı öğrencilerinin okuma becerileri gelişiminin üzerinde anlamlı etkisinin olduğu düşünülmektedir.
Purpose of this study is to suggest Verbal-Linguistic and Visual-Spatial Intelligence based activities designed through reading texts for teaching English and to examine the effect of these activities on the development of reading comprehension of Prep-Class students in Samsun İbrahim Tanrıverdi High Schools of Social Sciences. For the study, 17 students studying at Prep-Class have been chosen randomly. In order to test the development of reading comprehension between the pre-test and post-test applications of the students, who participated in the study, the ?Evaluation Questionnaire? is used that is designed by the researcher. The research has been conducted with pre-test post-test model without a control group method; for analysis of the findings SPSS 11.5 software programme and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test have been used. When the results of the Evaluation Questionnaire which is designed by the researcher and conducted before and after the activities analyzed, the finding gathered is as follows; It is considered that there is a significant effect of the suggested Verbal-Linguistic and Visual-Spatial Intelligence based activities designed through reading texts on the development of reading comprehension of prep-class students.
