Juvenil Miyoklonik Epilepsi Hastalarında Nöropsikolojik Değerlendirme

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı Juvenil Miyoklonik Epilepside (JME) görsel-mekansal işlevlerin değerlendirmesini kapsayan geniş bir incelemenin yürütülmesidir. Görsel-mekansal işlevlerin alt süreçlerinin değerlendirilmesine yönelik JME hastalarının nöropsikolojik profilinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın amaçları doğrultusunda iki farklı katılımcı grubu; JME hasta grubu ve sağlıklı kontrol grubu oluşmuş ve diğer değişkenler de araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Görsel-mekansal işlevlerin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla Yüz Tanıma Testi, İşaretleme Testi, İz Sürme Testi, Çizgi Yönü Belirleme Testi uygulanmıştır. Nöropsikolojik testlerin değerlendirilmesinde; JME hastalarının Çizgi Yönü Belirleme Testinde, İz Sürme Testi B formunda kontrol grubuna göre performans açısından başarısız olup, farkın istatistiksel olarak sınırda anlamlı olduğunu, İşaretleme Testinin bazı alt formlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede başarısız olduklarını çalışma sonucunda görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlar JME hastalarında sadece frontal lobda fonksiyon bozukluğu değil daha global bir bozukluk olduğu düşüncesini desteklemiştir.

The main purpose of this research is to conduct a comprehensive study involving the evaluation of visual-spatial functions in Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME). It was aimed to determine the neuropsychological profile of JME patients in order to evaluate the sub-processes of visual-spatial functions. There are two different groups of participants for the purposes of the research; The JME patient group and a healthy control group were formed and other variables were also included in the study. Facial Recognition Test, Verbal and Nonverbal Cancellation Test, Trail Making Test, Judgement of Line Orientation Test was applied to evaluate the visual-spatial functions. In the evaluation of neuropsychological tests; As a result of the study, it was observed that JME patients failed in terms of performance in the Line Orientation Test, Trail Making Test B form compared to the control group, and the difference was borderline statistically significant. It failed statistically significantly in some of its subforms in the symbol cancellation test. These results support the idea that JME patients not only have frontal lobe dysfunction but also a more global disorder.
