Abstract

Silver/gold nanoparticles with remarkable biological, chemical, physical, thermal, surface, and mechanical properties have recently shown significant potential in their synthesis and biomedical applications. Silver/gold nanoparticles- based nano-carriers and nanodrugs have been widely employed in drug delivery systems. Researchers are interested in using silver/gold nanoparticles in a range of issues, including smart drug release systems, photothermal treatment of cancer, and optical imaging systems. This chapter gives points to all aspects of synthesis strategies, surface characterization, drug release profiles, and cancer mechanisms of silver/gold nanoparticles. Consequently, some preparation and encapsulation strategies for green silver/gold nanoparticles, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the morphology (size and shape), pharmacological effects, targeting, current experimental limitations, and future perspectives of silver/gold nanoparticles-based nano-carriers, were highlighted. © 2025 by Apple Academic Press, Inc.
