Abstract

An EPR study of gamma-irradiated taurine [C<inf>2</inf>H<inf>7</inf>NO<inf>3</inf>S] single crystal was carried out at room temperature. The EPR spectra were recorded in the three at mutually perpendicular planes. There are two magnetically distinct sites in monoclinic lattice. The principle values of g and hyperfine constants for both sites were calculated. The results have indicated the presence of 32SO-<inf>2</inf> and 33SO-<inf>2</inf> radicals. The hyperfine values of 33SO-<inf>2</inf> radical were used to obtain O-S-O bond angle for both sites.
