Abstract
ABSTRACTFAUNISTIC STUDIES ON THE ACARINA SPECIES FOUND ON VARIOUSCROPS IN BAFRA AND ÇARŞAMBA PLAINSIn this study, it was aimed to determine the Acarina species found on various crops inBafra and Çarşamba plains. The study was conducted in the Center and 22 villages of Bafraand Çarşamba in the years of 2003-2005. Samplings were made periodically in every 7-14days from March to November. As a result of the research, a total of 35 mite species from 9 families belonging to 3suborders were determined. The fifteen pest mite species were determined to be members ofTetranychidae (7 species), Eriophyidae (6 species), Tenuipalpidae (1 species) andTarsonemidae (1 species) families. Tetranychus urticae Koch, T. cinnabarinus (Boisduval)and T. turkestani Ugarov and Nikolski (Tetranychidae) are the most important pest mitespecies in the region. Bryobia rubrioculus (Scheuten) (Tetranychidae), Cenopalpus pulcherCanestrini and Fanzago (Tenuipalpidae), Colemerus vitis (Pagenstecher), Aculus fockeui(Nalepa et Trouessart) and A. schlechtendali (Nalepa) (Eriophyidae) are the other importantpest mite species. Beside the pest mite species, the predaceous mite species were also takeninto consideration. The seventeen predaceous mite species were determined to be members ofPhytoseiidae (14 species), Stigmaeidae (2 species) and Ascidae (1 species) families.Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans), Amblyseius andersoni (Chant), Anthoseius recki(Wainstein), Phytoseius finitimus Ribaga, Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias and Henriot and P.macropilis (Banks) (Phytoseiidae) are the most widespread predaceous mite species. AlsoZetzellia mali (Ewing) (Stigmaeidae) and Blattisocius tarsalis (Berlese) (Ascidae) are theother important predaceous mite species. Furthermore, 2 species from the Tydeidae familyand 1 species from the Acaridae family were determined to be neutral mites.Key Words:Acarina, Crops, Fauna, Pest mites, Predaceous mitesII
