Edebiyat Sosyolojisi Bağlamında Kemal Tahir'de Aydın Kimliği: Esir Şehir Üçlemesi Örneği

Abstract

Bu tez çalışması edebiyatın sosyolojik imkânını doğrultusunda gelişmektedir. Toplum meselelerini ve toplumsal değişim/dönüşümü anlama ve açıklamada edebiyat ve sosyolojinin disiplinler arası iş birliği, edebiyat sosyolojisine hayat vermiştir. Özelikle edebi bir tür olarak romanın gelişimi, sosyolojiyi edebiyatla yakından ilgilenmeye yönlendirmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasında da edebiyatın sosyolojik imkânı, Türk romanının önemli bir ismi olan Kemal Tahir'in Esir Şehir Üçlemesi örnekliğinde incelenmiştir. Kemal Tahir'in romancılığının yanı sıra toplum meseleleriyle de yakından ilgilenmiş olması ve Türk sosyolojisini bu anlamıyla etkilemesi, örneklik seçiminin temel gerekçesidir. Nihayet bu tez çalışmasında edebiyat sosyolojisi bağlamında edebi ürünün sosyolojik incelemeye nesne olabileceği tezi üzerinden dönemin sosyologlarını da oldukça meşgul eden aydın kimliği meselesinin Kemal Tahir'in Esir Şehir Üçlemesi'nde nasıl kayıtlandığını ortaya koymak amaçlanmaktadır. Cumhuriyet dönemi romanları Türk edebiyatında geniş yer tutmakta ve bu dönemi inceleyen romanlar genelde bir olgu çerçevesinde ele alınmaktadır. Bu romanlarda işlenen en belirgin olgulardan birisi de aydın olgusudur. Tezde ele alınan Kemal Tahir'in Esir Şehir Üçlemesi de aydın olgusu çerçevesinde gelişmektedir ve bu romanlarda Kurtuluş mücadelesi yıllarında drama düşen aydın karakterler üzerinden toplumsal dram anlatılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Bu üçleme aracılığıyla Tahir, insanına yabancılaşmış, milleti ile bağları kopmuş pasif bir aydının, sorumlu ve yerli bir aydına dönüşümünü ele almış ve bu aydın tipini idealleştirmiştir. Bu anlamıyla Tahir, Esir Şehir Serisi'nde Türk aydınının nasıl olmaması ve nasıl olması gerektiğini okuyucusuna iletmiş ve bunu da Doğu-Batı, Batılaşma ve Yerlilik temaları üzerinden işlemiştir.

This thesis work has develops in context of sociological possibility of literature. Sociology of literature has been derived from İnterdisciplinary cooperation between literature and sociology on to understand and explain social issues and social change.. Especially the development of the novel as a literary genre led sociology to be interested in literature. In this thesis, the sociological possibility of literature was examined with the example of Kemal Tahir's Esir Şehir series who is an important person of Turkish novel. The main reason for choosing Kemal Tahir as an example in this study that is his being interested in social issues besides being a novelist, and he influences Turkish sociology in this sense. In this thesis, in the context of the sociology of literatüre, it is aimed to reveal how the subject of intellectual identidy, which also occupies sociologists of the period, is discussed in the Esir Şehir series. The novels of the Republican Period have a wide place in Turkish literature and the novels that examine this period are generally handled within the framework of a phenomenon. One of the most prominent cases in these novels is the intellectual phenomenon. This series of novels is a novel that develops within the framework of the phenomenon of intellectuals and tries to explain the social drama through the enlightened characters who have been falling into drama during the years of liberation. Through this series, Tahir considered the transformation of a passive intellectual who had been alienated to his human, severed from his nation, into a responsible and domestic lighting and idealized this type of intellect In this sense, Tahir conveyed to the reader how the Turkish intellectual should not be and how it should be in the Captive City Series, and it is based on the themes of EastWest, Westernization and localism.
