N-[(Z)-4-Methoxy-Benzyl-idene](Methoxy-Carbon-yl)Methanamine Oxide

Abstract

The title compound, C<inf>11</inf>H<inf>13</inf>NO<inf>4</inf>, contains a nitrone group, C=N-O-R, the geometry of which shows a Z configuration with near planarity (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0787 Å) around the C=N double bond. An intramolecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal packing, molecules are linked into R<inf>2</inf>2(12) dimers and R<inf>2</inf>2(14) rings via C-H⋯O intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
