Ahlak Eğitimi Bağlamında Kohlberg'in Ahlak Gelişim Teorisi ve Sorunları

Abstract

İnsanlık tarihi boyunca; peygamberler, filozoflar ve eğitimciler gibi pek çok kanaat öncüsü tarafından ideal insan modeli ve ideal toplum biçimleri oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla, yüzyıllar boyunca pek çok etik sistem kurulmuştur. Bu sistemlerin birçoğu geçmişte dini karakterli iken; küreselleşme süreciyle birlikte, özellikle psikolog ve eğitimciler tarafından geliştirilen ahlak gelişim teorileri ise, seküler bir özellik taşımaktadır. Bu teorilerin en önemlilerinden biri de, Kohlberg'in bilişsel ahlak gelişim teorisidir. Kohlberg'in ahlak gelişim teorisi, gerek yurtdışında gerekse yurtiçinde uzun yıllardır ahlakla ilgili pek çok çalışmaya temel teşkil etmiştir. Ancak ülkemizde teori üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda, teorinin eleştiriye açık olan yönleri ve zayıflığı konusu göz ardı edilmiştir. İşte bu nedenle tezimizin temel hedefi, Kohlberg'in ahlak gelişim teorisine yöneltilen eleştirileri ortaya koymaktır. Giriş ve iki bölümden oluşan tezimizin ilk bölümünde Kohlberg'in hayatı, ahlak anlayışı, ahlak gelişim teorisi ve ahlak eğitim yaklaşımı ele alınmaya; ikinci bölümünde de teorik, pratik ve dini açılardan teoriye yöneltilen temel eleştiriler ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Lawrence Kohlberg, Ahlak, Ahlaki Yargı, Ahlak Gelişimi, Ahlak Eğitimi.

Through the human history many thinkers including prophets, philosophers and educators tried to create ideal people and societies. For this purpose, many ethical systems have been developed for centuries. However, while many of them were religious characters in the past, with the process of globalization and secularization, some secular ethical values and theories of moral developments have begun to develop by psychologists and educators recently. One of the most important theories of moral development is currently that of Kohlberg's cognitive moral development theory. Kohlberg's moral development theory has been an important source on many national and international studies for many years. While many studies have been done on moral development theory of Kohlberg in our country, its critical aspects and weaknesses have been neglected by Turkish scholars. In this context, the main purpose of this study is to set forth the critiques done towards the moral theory and education of Kohlberg. This study analyses the life of Kohlberg, his moral understanding, moral theory, and moral education; and focuses on some critiques done towards his theory in terms of theoretical, practical, and religious aspects.Key Words: Lawrence Kohlberg, Morality, Moral Judgment, Moral Development, Moral Education.
