Aim: Supernumerary tooth is a term describing an excess in tooth number that can occur in both primary and permanent dentition. Supernumerary teeth are detected either by routine radiographic examination or as a result of clinical symptoms. The aim of this study was to investigate the localization and prevalence of 59 supernumerary teeth in 51 patients. Material and Methods: In this study 51 patients (31 male, 20 female) who had 59 supernumerary teeth were evaluated by use of clinical and radiological investigations. Results: Results showed that males were affected more frequently thanfemales. Eighty four percent of the patients had one supernumerary tooth, sixteen percent of the patients had two. The most frequently supernumerary tooth was supernumerary insisor and second was mesiodens. Conclusion: Supernumerary teeth may cause pathological conditions so careful follow-up with regular radiographic examination is advised.
