The problem of the possibility of knowledge has been the most important problem in the study of epistemology form the Sophists up to the present. It's clear that the possibility of knowledge had been discussed and the objective of knowledge of reality had been denied for the first time by the Sophists, especially by Pratogoras and Gorgias. This negative attitute of the Sophists towards the validity of our knowledge was criticised by Socrates and Plato and Aristotle. After them, in Islamic world, theologians and Avicenna discussed the same problem and like forerunner, criticised the negative attitude of Sophists. This article which focuses on the possibility of knowledge has mainly two aims; the first one is analysing Islamic theologians and Avicenna's views about the problem of the possibility of knowledge and classifying Sophists and criticism of them. The second one is drawing attention to resemblance betwen theologians and Avecenna's views about possibility of knowledge and criticism of Sophists.en_US
