Giresun Müzesi’nde Bulunan Pişmiş Toprak Kandiller

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Giresun Müzesi envanterinde bulunan müsadere (el koyma) veya deviryoluyla müzeye kazandırılmış 14 adet pişmiş toprak kandil değerlendirmeye alınmıştır.Hellenistik ve Roma dönemleri olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılan kandiller, kendi içinde de ayrıtipler altında gruplandırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda Hellenistik döneme tarihlenenler altı tipeayrılırken, Roma dönemine tarihlenenler dört tip altında incelenmiştir. Buluntu yerleri belliolmayan kandiller lokalize edilemediği için bulunduğu tabakaya göre değil, mevcut kandilkataloglarında bulunan benzerleriyle karşılaştırma yoluyla tarihlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.Çalışma soncunda kandillerin 7’si Hellenistik döneme, 7si’de Roma dönemine tarihlenmiştir.Elde edilen bu veriler benzer kandillerin form, hamur ve astar özelliklerinin karşılaştırılmasısonucu elde edilmiştir. Bölgede Giresun Adası’nda yürütülen kazılar dışında herhangi birkazı yürütülmemiştir. Günümüze ulaşan kalıntıların Ortaçağ’a tarihlendiği GiresunAdası’nda yürüttüğümüz kazılarda ise, herhangi bir kandil buluntusuna rastlanmamıştır.İlerleyen dönemlerde bölgede gerçekleştirilecek yeni kazılar ve elde edilecek bulgular,şüphesiz bölgenin arkeolojisine ışık tutacağı gibi, kandil atölyelerinin tespit edilmesi ve çevrekültürlerle olan etkileşiminin ortaya konulmasına imkan sağlayacaktır.

In this study, 14 terrecota lamps brought to the museum by means ofconfiscation or transfer were examined in Giresun Museum inventory. The lamps divided intotwo groups, Hellenistic and Roman periods, also grouped under separate types in themselves.In this context, while there were six types of lamps dated back to Hellenistic period, theRoman period artifacts were examined under four types. Since the lamps with unknownfinding location were not localized, they were tried to date through comparison with theexisting lamp catalogs rather than its layer of finding location. At the end of the study, 7 ofthe lamps were dated to the Hellenistic period, and 7 of them were dated to Roman period.These data obtained were obtained as a result of comparison of form, dough and liningproperties of similar lamps. No excavations were carried out in the region except excavationsin Giresun Island. There were no lamps found in the excavations carried out in GiresunIsland, where the remains of the present day were dated to the Middle Ages. New excavationsand findings to be carried out in the region in the future will undoubtedly shed light on thearcheology of the region. Moreover, future studies will allow determination of lampworkshops and their interaction with neighboring cultures.
