Dynamic stability of an elastic cylindrical shell with an axially varying elasticity modulus

Abstract

Bu makalede, elastisite modülü eksenel doğrultuda değişen nonlineer elastik silindirik bir kabuğun zamana bağlı bir kuvvet fonksiyonu ile değişen bir dış basınç etkisi altında dinamik stabilitesi incelenmektedir. Önce, homojen olmayan elastik silindirik kabuğun bir dış basınç etkisi altında dinamik stabilite denklemleri çıkarılmaktadır. Daha sonra, Bubnov-Galerkin metodu ile zamana bağlı bir diferansiyel denklem elde edilip, Saçenkov metodu [1] uygulanarak kritik yük ve dinamiklik katsayısı için genel formüller elde edilmektedir. Son olarak da, literatürdeki bazı sonuçlarla karşılaştırmalar yapmak ve seçilen bazı örnekler için grafiklerle eğriler sunmak için hesaplar yapmak amacıyla bir bilgisayar programı hazırlanmıştır.

In this study, the stability problem of a non-homogeneous elastic cylindrical shell with an elasticity modulus varying in the axial direction is studied under a dynamic external pressure. After deriving the dynamic stability equations of a non-homogeneous elastic cylindrical shell, under an external pressure which is a power function of time, Bubnov-Galerkin method is applied to find the time dependent differential equation of the problem. Applying Saçenkov's method [1] to this differential equation the critical load and the dynamic factor for the problem in the title are determined in a straight-forward manner. Finally, a computer program is prepared for carrying out comparisons with some results in literature and presenting the numerical results for selected example problems in the form of graphical curves.
