Anne eğitiminin okul öncesi çağındaki çocukların diş ve dişeti sağlığı üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı anne eğitim seviyeleri ile okul öncesi çağdaki çocuklarının dental ve gingival sağlık durumları arasındaki ilişki olup olmadığını incelemektir. Materyal ve Yöntem: 310 kadın denek eğitim seviyelerine göre gruplandırılmış (ilk, orta-lise ve üniversite) ve dişeti sağlık durumları Löe-Silness' in gingival indeksi kullanılarak ağız hijyen durumları ise Silness-Löe'nün plak indeksi kullanılarak tespit edilmiştir. Bu annelerin okul öncesi çağdaki çocukları çağrılmış ve ağız hijyen durumları, dişeti sağlık durumları ve dental çürük profilleri incelenmiştir. Hijyen durumlarının tayini için annelerde uygulanan plak indeks dişeti sağlığının tayini için ise yine annelere uygulanan gingival indeks kullanılmıştır. Çürük durumları ise muayene ile belirlenmiştir. Fırçalama alışkanlıkları ye anne eğitim durumları çocuklar için hazırlanış anket formları ile tespit edilmiştir. Veriler Ki Kare testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Bulgular anne eğitim seviyesinin çocukların günlük diş fırçalama alışkanlıkları, dişeti sağlık durumu ve çürük görülme sıklığı ile bağlantılı olduğunu göstermektedir (p0,01). Annelerin ve çocuklarının ağız sağlık profillerinin anne eğitim seviyesi ile ters orantılı olduğu istatistiksel olarak belirlenmiştir (p0,01). Sonuç: Anne eğitim seviyesi okul öncesi çocukların genel eğitimde ve alışkanlıklarının oluşmasında büyük rol oynamaktadır. Bu alışkanlıklar arasında dış fırçalama alışkanlığının kazandırılması ve ağız sağlığı ile ilgili temel bilgilerin çocuk tarafından benimsenmesi de yer almaktadır. Bu yüzden oral hijyen uygulamalarına başlama ve devam ettirme okul öncesinde büyük bir oranla anneye bağlıdır.

Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between maternal education level and dental/gingival status of the preschool children. Material and Methods: 310 female subjects and their 310 preschool children were participated in our study. Their gingival health were examined with Löe-Silness gingival index and oral hygiene status were determined with Silness- Löe plaque index. Their caries profile were diagnosed with clinical examination. Their mothers' educational level and their daily tooth brushing habits were determined with a questionnaire that prepared for children Chi Square analysis was used to evaluate the data. Results: The results suggested that mother's educational level had an effect on her child's daily tooth brushing habit in relation to the gingival health and number of teeth with dental caries (p<0,01). Furthermore, mothers and their children's oral profile worsened in direct correlation with decrease of mothers' educational level (p<0.01). Conclusion: Although the maternal education level was found significantly associated with the children's dental status, further studies should be planned among the healthy mothers and their preschool children to compare the results in large populations for the reliability of the data that will promote to a conclusion that the familial effect on the gingival and dental status may be important.
