The ideas of university students about organ donation

Organs or tissues from one human being(the donor) are put into another person's body (the recipient). While many do get the chance of reviewed life or improved health with a successful transplant some people die each year waiting for a suitable organ. Nowadays organs that can be donated for transplantation include heart, lungs, liver, pancreas and kidneys. Tissues that can be donated include corneas (eyes), heart valves, skin and bone. This study was carried out to evaluate the ideas of 360 university students about organ donation those were received to participate in questionaire, living in male and female dormitories in Ordu. Data were collected by using a questionnaire. It was determined that 59.5% of the university students had information about the subject, 59.6% of the students were volunteers, 78.9% of the students were believed in the necessity organ donation, 69.1% of them do not know where to apply.
