Mahremiyetin dinler bağlamında analizi: Yahudilik, Hristiyanlık ve İslam üzerinden sosyolojik bir çözümleme denemesi

Abstract

Mahremiyet kavramının modern dönemle birlikte değişimini ve dönüşümünü incelediğimiz bu çalışma, sosyolojik bir çözümleme denemesidir. Literatür incelendiğinde dinler bağlamında mahremiyet üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda eksiklik görülmüştür. Bu eksiklik sebebiyle öncelikle toplumsal süreçler içerisinde bilhassa modernite ile mahremiyetin dönüşümü incelenmiş ardından Yahudilik, Hristiyanlık ve İslamiyet üzerindeki mahremiyet tanımlarına yer verilmiştir. Mahremiyet tanımı geniş bir içeriği kapsadığından dolayı mahremiyet içeriği tezde beden/mekan mahremiyeti, ve söylem mahremiyeti olarak sınırlandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, "dini" bir kavram olan mahremiyetin modern etmenlerle birlikte "gündelik" hayata yansıyan ve değişen yönünü ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu amaçla mahremiyet kavramı hem dinler bağlamında hem de modernite çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Çalışma, nitel araştırma deseniyle hazırlanmıştır. Kuramsal olaraksa Fenomenolojik Din Teorisi ve Sembolik Etkileşimcilik Kuramı ile temellendirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın problem cümlelerini; "Mahremiyet kavramı modern süreçler içerisinde hangi toplumsal şartlar altında değişime ve dönüşüme uğramıştır ve modernite, mahremiyeti din alanından gündelik hayata alıp onu hangi sebeplerle "tercih" haline getirmiştir?" olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın sonunda şu sonuçlar elde edilmiştir: 1. Toplumsal süreçler içerisinde dinin konumunun değişmesi mahremiyetin konumunu da değiştirmiştir. 2. Mahremiyetin kamusal alana geçişi mahremiyetin dinle olan temasını gündelik hayata taşımıştır. 3. Mahremiyetin dönüşümünde en önemli kavramları "birey" ve "tercih" oluşturmaktadır. 4. Modern süreçler, mahremiyet noktasında kutsal metinlerin yeniden yorumlanmasına sebep olmuştur. 5. Seküler düzen, mahremiyeti tüketim nesnesine dönüştürmüştür. 6. Modern dönemde mahremiyet, benliğin sunumunda bir araç ve imaj görevi görmektedir.

This research, in which we examined the transformation and the changes that the concept of privacy is going through in this modern era, involves an essay on sociological settlement. When the literature is examined, the lack of researches being done about privacy in the context of religions can be seen. Concerning the lack of researches, the changing process of privacy is mentioned in the research. Therefore, primarily the transformation of privacy in the societal process -especially with the effects of modernization have been investigated, subsequently, the definitions of privacy in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have been included. Because the definition of privacy comprises a wide content, the content of privacy has been limited to physical privacy and discourse privacy in the thesis. The purpose of this research is to reveal the side of privacy -which is a "religious" notion- that applies to daily life with modern factors. For that purpose, the notion of privacy has been addressed both in a religious context and in the context of modernization. This study has been prepared with qualitative research design and speculatively has been grounded by The Phenomenological Theory Of Religion and The Theory Of Symbolic Interactionism. In this sense, the problem proposition of this research has been determined to be, "Under what social circumstances has the notion of privacy changed and transformed, and for what reasons has modernization taken privacy into our daily lives and made it into a preference?" Concordantly, these results have been obtained: 1. The position change that religion has had in the societal process also caused a change in the position of privacy. 2. The passing of privacy to the public sphere has brought the connection between privacy and religion into daily life. 3. In the transformation of privacy, the two most important concepts have been determined to be "person" and "preference". 4. Modern processes have caused reinterpretation of religious texts concerning privacy. 5. The secular order has turned privacy into an object of consumption. 6. In the modern era privacy serves a purpose of an instrument or a public opinion.
