Kadın üniversite öğrencilerinin aile ve kariyere yönelik tutumu ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin lisansüstü eğitim niyeti üzerindeki rolü

Abstract

Bu araştırmada lisans düzeyinde eğitim gören 4. sınıf kadın üniversite öğrencilerinin, aile ve kariyere yönelik tutumu ve toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin lisansüstü eğitime devam etme niyeti üzerindeki rolünün belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Buna yönelik olarak öğrencilerin kişisel bilgi formu ile sosyodemografik bilgilerine ait veriler, Aile ve Kariyer Ölçeği ile kariyere yönelik düşünceleri, Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Tutum Ölçeği ile de toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ait fikirleri belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'nde farklı fakültelerin4. sınıflarında lisans eğitimine devam eden 294 kadın öğrenciden kota örnekleme yöntemiyle ve gönüllük esasına dayanarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Aile ve Kariyer Ölçeği (AKÖ), Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Tutum Ölçeği (TCRT) ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 22.0 İstatistik Paket Programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre lisansüstü eğitime devam etmeyi düşünen ve düşünmeyen kadın öğrencilerin TCRT'den aldıkları puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olup olmadığını saptamak için yapılan t-test sonucunda gruplar arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda lisansüstü eğitimlerine devam etme niyeti olan kadın öğrencilerin TCRT'den aldıkları puanların ortalamasının diğer gruba göre daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Lisansüstü eğitim yapmayı düşünen ve düşünmeyen kadın öğrencilerin AKÖ'den aldıkları toplam puanlar arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olup olmadığını belirlemeye yönelik yapılan t-testi sonucuna göre iki grup arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Lisansüstü eğitim yapmayı düşünen kadın öğrencilerin AKÖ'den aldıkları puan ortalamalarının, lisansüstü eğitimi düşünmeyen kadın öğrencilerin puan ortalamalarına göre anlamlı şekilde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Bulgular genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde, lisansüstü eğitime devam etme niye olan kadın öğrencilerin diğer öğrencilere kıyasla daha eşitlikçi cinsiyet rollerini benimsediği ve kariyer yönelimlerinin daha yüksek olduğu söylenebilir.

In this study, it was aimed to determine the role of the attitude towards family and career and gender roles of 4th grade female university students studying at undergraduate level on the intention to continue their postgraduate education. For this purpose, demographic information of the students with the personal information form, their thoughts about career with the Family and Career Scale, and their opinions about gender roles with the Gender Roles Attitude Scale were determined. The data of the study was collected by quota sampling method and on voluntary basis from 294 female students attending their undergraduate education in the 4th grade of different faculties of Ondokuz Mayıs University in the academic year of 2019-2020. The Family and Career Scale (SCD), Gender Roles Attitude Scale (TCRT) and personal information form were used to collect the data. The data were analysed using SPSS 22.0 Statistical Software Package Program. In this study, according to the results of the t-test to determine whether there is a significant difference between female students who are thinking about postgraduate education and those who do not was determined that there is a significant difference. In this context, it has been determined that the average of the points obtained by female students who intend for postgraduate education is higher than the other group. According to the result of the t-test to determine whether there is a significant difference between the total scores of female students who are thinking to attend postgraduate education and who do not, it has been concluded that there is a significant difference between the two groups. It has been determined that the mean scores of the female students who are thinking to attend postgraduate education are significantly higher than the average scores of the female students who do not think attending postgraduate education. When the findings are evaluated in general, it can be said that women who intend to continue their postgraduate education adopt better egalitarian gender roles in other courses and have higher career orientation.
