Scarless Healing and Future Directions
Özet
Scarring is a natural consequence of skin injury in which organisation of normal structure is inadequate. Scarless healing can be seen in fetal life along with the development of dermal appendages and it may also be possible in adult life. There is a growing interest in scarless wound healing mechanisms and the progress in this area has improved significantly. Recent advances in stem cell and developmental biology have revealed novel pathways and cell types involved in this area. Targeting components of adult tissue healing, such as inflammation, with molecular therapies offers increased specificity. Combinations of endogenous and exogenous wound healing modulators are more likely to successfully achieve scarless wound healing. © 2019 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
