Multipath statistics for 3G W-CDMA systems
Özet
Simultaneous wideband measurements were conducted in in the Frequency Division Duplex FDD, UMTS bands in Manchester city-centre. Omnidirectional antennas were used as transmitting and receiving antennas. The receiver was mounted either on a trolley or in a van. Transmit-receive ranges up to 1.6 km (trolley) and 5 km (van) were covered. A total number of more than 55,000 impulse responses were collected at 581 small-scale locations. The data were processed to obtain multipath statistics for 5 MHz bandwidths to obtain a number of channel parameters, such as delay spread, average delay, width of the delay profile and number of the multipath components within 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 21 dB from the peak. This paper presents the statistics including cumulative distributions of power level and time delay of the multipath components with respect to the peak. This information can be used in the design of the RAKE receiver of wideband code division multiple access systems (W-CDMA).
