A case of late-onset genital apocrine chromhidrosis

Chromhidrosis is a rare disorder and characterized by the secretion of colored sweat by the apocrine and eccrine sweat glands. Chromhidrosis is primarily apocrine in origin, but eccrine and pseudoeccrine chromhidrosis were also described. Apocrin chromhidrosis, which usually starts in puberty has also been reported in other age groups. Face, areola of the breast and axilla were involved in most of the cases with apocrine chromhidrosis. Although the etiology in unknown, lipofuscin pigment accumulation in the apocrine sweat glands were thought to play a role. The diagnosis is based on clinical findings and a lot of diseases should be considered in the differential diagnosis. Apocrine chromhidrosis, which may physicologically effect the patient, does not have a specific treatment. In our report, we presented a case of late-onset genital apocrine chromhidrosis.
