Real time implementation of a wavelet power based algorithm for three-phase synchronous generator protection
Özet
In this work, a novel wavelet power based algorithm for the protection of a salient-pole synchronous generator is developed, implemented, and tested on-line using the ds1102 digital signal processor board. The proposed algorithm is based on the comparison of the instantaneous wavelet power (WP) of the wavelet packet transform (WPT) second level low frequency details (ad) of the voltage and current samples relating to each phase with the threshold determined experimentally during the healthy operating condition of the generator. The algorithm is implemented in real-time using the Texas Instrument TMS320C31 32 bit floating point digital signal processor with the help of object-oriented programming. An experimental setup for the on-line testings of the proposed algorithm on the synchronous generator is developed and all pertinent tests are carried out. In all the test carried out, each disturbance is identified promptly and properly, and a trip signal is initiated almost at the instant of a fault occurrence.
