Synthesis, spectral, thermal and structural characterization of mer-triaquaorotatoquinoxaline cadmium(II) dihydrate

The new orotate complex of cadmium(11) with quinoxaline, mer-[Cd(HOr)(H2O)(3)(QX)]center dot 2H(2)O, was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P (1) over bar. The Cd2+ ion exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination by one bidentate orotate, one monodentate quinoxaline and three aqua ligands.
