In this work it is aimed to detect transformer internal fault and magnetizing inrush currents by using independent component analysis (ICA). A laboratory transformer is used for real-time experiments to examine the suggested technique. Laboratory experiments cover turn to turn faults performed in primary and secondary windings and inrush conditions. Diferential (I-d) and restraint (I-r) currents are analyzed by ICA and MATLAB (TM) is used for required calculations. Transformer internal faults can be detected effectively with the proposed method.en_US
