In Turkey, scientific veterinary medicine education was pioneered by the Prussian Veterinarian Godlewsky in 1842 and the first civilian Veterinary School was established in 1889. It is known that veterinary surgeons who completed their trainings successfully and met the requirements of Military and Civil Veterinary Schools took their graduation certificates. In this study, the graduation certificates called as "intihab-name", "icazet-name" or "sahadet-name" have been identified; the transcription and the simplification in contemporary Turkish language of six graduation documents, prepared between the years 1901-1919, were performed. The aim of this study was to examine and represent the graduation certificates in veterinary medicine at the Ottoman Empire based on detected documents.en_US
