EPR study of gamma irradiated DL-methionine sulfone single crystals
Özet
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of gamma irradiated dl-2-amino-4-(Methylsulfonyl) butyric acid (dl-methionine sulfone, hereafter dl-ABA) single crystals and powder was performed at room temperature. It has been found that this compound indicates the existence of CO2- and NH2 radicals after gamma-irradiation. While g and hyperfine splitting values for the NH2 radical were observed, for the CO2- radical, only the g factor was measured. The EPR spectra have shown that NH2 radical has two groups each having two distinct sites and CO2- radical has one site. The principal g and hyperfine values for all sites were analyzed.
