Characterization of Indoor and Outdoor Electric Field Strength Levels at Hospitals
Özet
In this study, electrical field strength (E) level measurements were conducted in indoor and outdoor at seven hospitals in the city center of Samsun/Turkey. E measurements were made with Narda SRM-3006 electromagnetic field meter, which can measure the frequency band between 30 MHz and 3 GHz selectively. Measurements results show that the highest E value within the hospital is 0.818 V/m, while this value is 2.627 V/m for out of hospital. The E exposed outdoor of the hospital is 2.93 times higher than indoor of the hospital for measurement locations. The main sources of total E in the environments are base stations, and their contributions are 92.5% and 98.6% for indoor and outdoor of the hospital respectively. The most contribution of 53.4% total E is base stations using 2100 MHz frequency.
