The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of sports training on the aerobic, anaerobic and respiratory capacities of the students over 16 weeks in order to improve the performance of the students attending the Turkish Naval Academy preparatory class. A total of 100 students, 50 of them in the 18-20 age group and 50 midwifes in the middle level, participated in the study. FVC, FEV1, FEFmax, SVC, MVV, IC values, cooper test for aerobic capacity, 800m swimming test, 30m running for anaerobic capacity and 50m swimming tests were measured with spirometer. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used for normality tests. Independent t-Test was used to compare the pre-test-posttest and different variables of the participants. A high level of significant difference was found in the aerobic, anaerobic and respiratory parameters of all participants(p(<0.001)<.05). No significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test averages of 30m for middle-level floating student and elite-level floating students(p(0.373)>.05). For the anaerobic values of all participants, the difference between the mean of pre-test(p(0.026)<.05) and the final test (p(0.035)<.05) in the 50m swim was significant. The difference between the averages of the cooper test pre-test (p(0.635)>.05) for the aerobic values of all participants was not significant, but the difference between the post-test (p(0.490)<.05) averages was significant. For the aerobic values of the subjects, the difference between the pre-test (p(0.999)>.05) and the post-test(p(0.639)>.05) averages at 800 m swimming was not significant. As a result, it was seen that military and sports trainings given in the Naval Academy had a positive effect on aerobic, anaerobic and respiratory performance.en_US
