İlkokul 2. Sınıfta Web 2.0 Araçlarının Kullanımına İlişkin Bir Durum Çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı ilkokul ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin tablet ve Web 2.0 araçlarının kullanımına ilişkin bakış açılarını ve bu araçları kullandıkça bakış açılarında değişiklik olup olmadığını incelemektir. Araştırmada 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Samsun'un Asarcık ilçesinde yer alan bir köy ilkokulunun ikinci sınıf öğrencileri arasından uygun örnekleme yoluyla altı öğrenci belirlenmiştir. 10 haftalık uygulama boyunca öğrencilerin StoryBird, Padlet ve Bitmoji Web 2.0 araçlarını kullanım sürecine ilişkin görüşleri; yapılandırılmış görüşmeler, öğretmen gözlemleri ve öğrenci ürünleri aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri tematik analiz yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda ilkokul ikinci sınıfta öğrenim gören tablet ya da android işletim sistemine sahip mobil cihaz kullanım deneyimi olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin tablet kullanımına ilişkin bakış açıları arasında benzer ve farklı yönlerin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Tablet ya da android işletim sistemine sahip mobil cihaz kullanım deneyimi olmayan öğrencilerin Web 2.0 araçlarını kullanırken özellikle dijital teknik becerilere ilişkin çeşitli olumsuz görüşleri olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca olumsuz yöndeki dijital teknik becerilere bağlı olarak Web 2.0 araçlarıyla gerçekleştirilen uygulamalara karşı olumsuz tutumlar geliştirdikleri de görülmüştür. Tablet ya da android işletim sistemine sahip mobil cihaz kullanım deneyimi olmayan öğrenciler; aynı özelliklere sahip cihaz kullanım deneyimi olan öğrencilere kıyasla okuma ve yazma becerilerinin işe koşulduğu 'Padlet' ve 'StoryBird' Web 2.0 araçlarını kullanırken klavye kullanımına ilişkin olumsuz görüşlerini ifade etmişlerdir. Yanı sıra tablet ya da android işletim sistemine sahip mobil cihaz kullanım deneyimi bulunan öğrencilerin araştırma süresince tablet ve Web 2.0 araçlarının kullanımına ilişkin olumlu bakış açılarına sahip olduklarına ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin tablet ve Web 2.0 araçlarını kullanım sürecinde edindikleri kazanımlara ilişkin görüşleri ve bu sürece ilişkin önerileri de sunulmuştur. Öğrencilerin tamamının araştırmada en son kullanılan Web 2.0 aracı 'Bitmoji' kullanım sürecine ilişkin görüşleri incelendiğinde araştırmanın ilk haftalarına kıyasla daha olumlu bakış açılarına sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, yapılan araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda, literatür destekli önerilere yer verilmiştir.

In this study, it was tried to determine the perspectives of second grade students on the use of tablet and Web 2.0 tools and whether their perspectives change as they continue to use these tools. In the research, six students were selectedamong the second grade students of a village primary school in Asarcık district of Samsun in 2018-2019 academic year by means of convenience sampling. The views of students about the process of using StoryBird, Padlet and Bitmoji Web 2.0 tools during the 10-week application were assessed through structured interviews, teacher observations, and student products. The data of the research were analyzed through thematic analysis. As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that there were similarities and differences in the perspectives of the second grade students with and without mobile device experiences including a tablet or android operating system, it was found that students who had no experience with mobile devices with a tablet or android operating system had various negative opinions especially on digital technical skills while using Web 2.0 tools. In addition, it was observed that they developed negative attitudes towards applications performed with Web 2.0 tools depending on the negative digital technical skills. Students without experience with mobile devices with tablet or android operating system were more likely to express negative opinions regarding the use of keyboards when using 'Padlet' and 'StoryBird' Web 2.0 tools, where reading and writing skills are enabled compared to students with the usage experience of devices with the same features. Besides, it was found that students who had usage experience of mobile device with a tablet or android operating system develop positive perspectives on the use of tablet and Web 2.0 tools during the research. In the study, the opinions of the students about learning outcomes they gained by using tablet and Web 2.0 tools and their suggestions related to this process were also examined. When the opinions of all students about the use of 'Bitmoji', which is most recently used Web 2.0 tool, in the research were examined, it was seen that they had more positive perspectives compared to the first weeks of the research. In this study, literature supported suggestions are included in accordance with the results obtained from the study.
