Publication: Bafra Koyun Irkında Erken Sütten Kesimin Kuzu Büyüme Özelliklerine Etkisi
Abstract
Bu çalışma Bafra koyun ırkında erken sütten kesimin kuzu büyüme özelliklerine etkisi ile koyunlardan elde edilen sütün beraber değerlendirilmesi imkanlarını araştırmak amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışma; kuzuların rumen gelişimlerini tamamladıkları 45 günlük yaşta sütten kesilen (erken sütten kesim, muamele) ve 90 günlük yaşta sütten kesilen (geleneksel sütten kesim, kontrol) olarak iki gruptan oluşmuştur. Çalışmada, kontrol grubu 25 baş ve muamele grubu 23 baş olmak üzere toplam 48 baş Bafra koyun ırkına ait kuzu kullanılmıştır. Kuzular doğum ağırlıkları, ana yaşı, cinsiyet, doğum tipi ve babalarına göre gruplara eşit olarak dağıtılmışlardır. Kuzuların doğumda, 30., 60., 90., 120. ve 205. gün cidago yüksekliği, sağrı yüksekliği, sırt yüksekliği, vücut uzunluğu, göğüs genişliği, göğüs derinliği, göğüs çevresi, but çevresi ve canlı ağırlıkları belirlenmiştir. Her gruptan 10 baş kuzunun sütten kesimin 2. gününde (47. gün) kan plazma kortizol, glikoz, toplam kolesterol ve üre değerleri saptanmıştır. Bafra koyunları aylık süt kontrollerine tabi tutulmuştur. Koyunların laktasyon süt verimleri, laktasyon süreleri ve erken sütten kesim ile elde edilecek sütün miktarı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada muamele ve kontrol grubu kuzuların vücut ölçüleri ve canlı ağırlıkları arasında farklılığın en fazla görüldüğü ölçüm zamanı kontrol grubu lehine 90. gün olarak tespit edilmiştir. Kontrol ve muamele grubu kuzuları arasında 90. gündeki vücut ölçüleri ve canlı ağırlıkları arasındaki farklılıklar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Bununla beraber kontrol ve muamele grubu arasında 120.gün ile 205.gün arasındaki sürede muamele grubu lehine bir değişim meydana gelmiş olup, bu değişimin 205. günde yapılan ölçümlerde gruplar arasındaki farklılıkları azalttığı tespit edilmiştir (p>0.05). Kontrol ve muamele grupları arasında sütten kesimin 2. gününde kan plazma kortizol, glikoz, toplam kolesterol ve üre değerlerindeki farklılıklar istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Bafra koyunlarının ortalama laktasyon süt verimleri 87.7 kg ve laktasyon süreleri ise 93 gün olarak belirlenmiştir. Erken sütten kesim ile hayvan başına ortalama 45.26 kg sütün işletme tarafından kullanılabileceği hesaplanmıştır. Erken sütten kesimin kuzuların yaşama gücünde etki oluşturmadan gelişimlerinde sarsıntıya neden olduğu, ancak bakım beslemeye daha fazla özen gösterilerek bunun telafi edilebileceği, koyunlardan da önemli düzeyde süt elde edilerek işletme ekonomisine katkı sunabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of early weaning on lamb growth traits in Bafra sheep breed and the possibilities of utilizing the milk obtained from ewes together. The study consisted of two groups; weaned at 45 days of age when lambs completed their rumen development (early weaning, treatment) and weaned at 90 days of age (conventional weaning, control). A total of 48 lambs of Bafra sheep breed, 22 lambs in the treatment group and 23 lambs in the control group, were used in the study. The lambs were equally distributed to the groups according to birth weight, age at birth, sex, type of birth and sire. Body height, rump height, back height, body length, chest width, chest depth, chest circumference, thigh circumference and body weight of lambs were determined at birth, 30th, 60th, 90th, 120th and 205th days. Blood plasma cortisol, glucose, total cholesterol and urea values were determined on the 2nd day of weaning (47th day) of 10 lambs from each group. Bafra ewes were subjected to monthly milk checks. Lactation milk yield, lactation duration and the amount of milk to be obtained by early weaning were determined. In the study, the most significant difference between the body measurements and live weights of the treatment and control group lambs was observed at the 90th day in favor of the control group. The differences in body measurements and body weights between the control and treatment group lambs at 90 days were statistically significant (p<0.05). However, there was a change in favor of the treatment group between the control and treatment groups between the 120th and 205th days, and this change was found to reduce the differences between the groups in the measurements made on the 205th day (p>0.05). The differences in blood plasma cortisol, glucose, total cholesterol and urea values between the control and treatment groups on the 2nd day of weaning were not statistically significant (p>0.05). The average lactation milk yield of Bafra ewes was 87.7 kg and lactation duration was 93 days. It was calculated that an average of 45.26 kg of milk per animal could be used by the enterprise with early weaning. It was concluded that early weaning caused a concussion in the development of lambs without affecting their survival, but this can be compensated by paying more attention to care and feeding, and ewes can contribute to the economy of the enterprise by obtaining a significant level of milk.
