Öğrencilerin İstatistik Dersine Karşı Tutumlarının Psikolojik Faktörlerle İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin istatistik dersine karşı olan tutumlarının benlik saygısı, problem çözme, sürekli kaygı ve durum kaygı gibi psikolojik faktörlerden nasıl etkilendiği 2014 yılında geliştirilen İstatistik Tutum Ölçeği (İTÖ) ile incelenmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan İTÖ, 2014 yılında Tunç ve Komitoğlu tarafından geliştirilen özgün bir ölçektir. Bu tez çalışması ise bu alanda birden çok psikolojik faktörün etkisini barındıran özgün bir çalışmadır. Araştırmaya Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'nin çeşitli bölümlerimde öğrenim görmekte olan 501'i kadın 533'ü erkek olmak üzere 1034 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak İstatistik Tutum Ölçeği, Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Problem Çözme Envanteri, Sürekli Kaygı ve Durum Kaygı Ölçeklerinin oluşturduğu 4 ölçekli anket formu ve Demografik Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilere; faktör analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, Path Analizi ve Yapısal Eşitlik Modellemesi yöntemleri kullanılarak analizler yapılmıştır.

This study examines the impacts of the psychological factors like self-esteem, problem solving, state anxiety and trait anxiety, on the attitudes of Ondokuz Mayıs University students towards the Statistics course using Attitude Scale of Statistics developed in 2014. The Attitude Scale of Statistics used in this study is an original scale, developed by Tunç and Komitoğlu in 2014. This thesis study is an original study in this field which contains the impacts of more than one psychological factor. 1054 students (501 female and 533 male) from different departments of Ondokuz Mayıs University has participated in this study. A four scale questionaire consisting Statistics Attitude Scale, Self- Esteem Scale, Problem Solving Inventory, State Anxiety Scale and Trait Anxiety Scales and Demographic Information Form are used for data collection. Data is analysed by methods of factor analysis, reliability analysis, Path analysis and Structural Equation Modelling.
