dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to evaluate the traffic density of nine intersections located between the Karayollari intersection and the Toplu Konut Bulvari intersection on Ataturk Boulevard in Samsun's Atakum district, and to analyze the traffic flow in detail at these intersections. For this purpose, the total number of vehicles passing through the intersections between 07.0019.00 hours was taken as a reference for the analyses. While some of the counts were made using cameras at certain intersections, others were carried out through field survey. The data generated from the counts were mapped using the Line Density Analysis in ArcGIS, which is one of the Geographic Information Systems software. The resulting maps allowed for the visualization of the density status of the intersections based on the number of vehicles. When the results were examined, the Karayollari intersection had the highest density, while the Toplu Konut Bulvari intersection had the lowest. Based on these results, feasible solution proposals were presented for regulating the traffic flow and congestion in the study areaen_US
