Abstract
The wastewater from the coastal city centers reaches to the marine environment, it causes human health and different environmental problems as well as deterioration of the marine ecosystem. For this reason, wastewater should be discharged to the sea at a certain depth and at a sufficient distance from the coast, provided that the standards determined by laws and regulations were met. Deep sea discharge facilities are wastewater disposal methods contructed for this purpose. In this thesis, the performances of deep sea disharges in Trabzon province after pretreatment were explained. The deep sea disharges systems of Trabzon-Of, Trabzon-Arsin and Trabzon-Ortahisar (Moloz) were examined. Water Pollution Control Regulation Sampling and Analysis Methods and taking into account the current state of the Turkish Standards for the parameters in Table 4, Table 22 and Table 23 of the Wastewater and sea water samples were analyzed. When the analyzes made in wastewater samples were evaluated according to Table 22, the values of the surfactants reacting with suspended solids, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, oil-grease, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and methylene blue were high. According to the results of seawater analysis, suspended solids, chlorophyll-a and coliform values were generally high in deep sea discharge lines.
