| dc.description.abstract | We endeavored to review a papyrus that was published by Nabia Abbott (1897-1981) and is numbered as 17627 in Chicago Oriental Institute Library and also dated to the Hijri 2nd century or early 3rd century. All the hadiths (16 hadiths) in papyrus are cited by 'Uqayl b. Halid al-Ayli (d. 144/761) who was a student of Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri. Accordingly, it is highly possible that it was transferred from a written source belonging to Zuhri. 14 of related hadiths are marfu'; 1 of them is inapt'. Another purpose was to show the harmony between hadith data in different geographies. In this respect, hadiths on papyrus page were analyzed based on accuracy and belongingness of narratives to Zuhri in terms of followers (mutabffat). This study also tried to reveal the rootlessness of allegations which assume that hadiths that are narrated by some orientalists are systematically combined. We, in addition to all these, endeavored to reveal the currency of literature of hadith specific to Egypt and its effects on the following musannifs in this study which also aimed to show the harmony between the data of hadith | en_US |
