Üreticilerin Tarımsal Mücadele İlaçlarını Bilinçli Bir Şekilde Kullanmalarını Etkileyen Faktörler: Samsun İli Çarşamba İlçesi Örneği

Abstract

Tarımsal üretimde tarımsal mücadele ilaçlarının kullanımı, verim ve kalite üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Ancak son yıllarda tarımsal üretimde hastalık, zararlı veya yabancı otlar ile mücadele yöntemleri etkili bir şekilde uygulanmamakta, gereksiz ve yanlış dozlarda ilaç kullanımı yaygınlaşmakta, aşırı doz uygulamaları sonucunda ürünlerde pestisit kalıntıları artmakta ve kimyasal mücadele dışında kalan tarımsal mücadele yöntemleri tercih edilmemektedir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Samsun İli Çarşamba İlçesindeki üreticilerin tarımsal mücadele ilaçlarının bilinçli kullanımına etki eden faktörleri belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilçede bitkisel üretim yapan 112 çiftçi ile anket yoluyla görüşülerek veriler elde edilmiştir. Veri analizinde temel tanımlayıcı istatistikler, t testi ve ki kare analizlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, çiftçilerin hastalık, zararlı ve yabancı otlar ile mücadelede kimyasal mücadele dışındaki metotları çok az uyguladığı, kimyasal mücadele uygulamasına daha çok kendi deneyimlerine göre karar verdiği ve ilaç temininde daha çok ilacın fiyatı ve son kullanma tarihini göz önünde bulundurduğu, üreticilerin kimyasal mücadele yöntemini yanlış bir şekilde uygulayarak istemeden de olsa çevreye zarar verdiğini de ortaya koymuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarının politikacılara, tarımla ilgili sivil toplum örgütlerine, tarımsal mücadele ilaçları ile ilgilenen bayilere, tarımsal yayım personeline, çiftçilere ve araştırmacılara yararlı bilgiler sağlayacağı umulmaktadır. The use of pesticides in agriculture has an effect on yield and quality. However, in recent years, the importance of this work has been pointed out that farmers cannot effectively apply the methods of combating diseases and pests. The use of pesticides in unnecessary and incorrect doses is widespread. Pesticides remain in products as a result of overdose application and agricultural fighting methods other than chemical fighting are not preferred by farmers. In this study, it was aimed to determine factors affecting conscious use of pesticides among the farmers of Carsamba District of Samsun province. For this purpose, a stratified sample of 112 farmers were selected from Carsamba district. Data were collected by administering a questionnaire with these farmers. The methods of data analysis were determined in line with the objectives of the research, mostly using descriptive statistics, t test and chi-square analysis. Finding of this study showed that farmers don't prefer pest control methods other than chemicals, they decide pest control mostly by their experiences, and they consider the prices and expire date of pesticides as the most important factors when purchasing pesticides. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information for policy makers, agricultural NGOs, pesticide dealers, farmers, scientists, extension practitioners, and researchers.
